Sweet Molasses Bread

Ingredients
- 1 package rapid rise yeast
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 Tbsp molasses
- 2 Tbsp Crisco
- 1/2 Tbsp kosher salt
- 6 cups flour
Instructions
- in a mixing bowl, add 1 cup water, yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, set aside for 10 min
- in another mixing bowl, combine 1 cup water w/ molasses, Crisco, and salt
- add the mixtures together, with the remaining sugar, and mix until smooth
- place mixture in the mixer bowl, and attach the bread hook
- gradually add flour 1 cup at a time with the mixer on low, and allow it to knead until it cleans the mixer bowl
- continue kneading by hand until elastic
- set on flat surface, cover w/ damp towel for 15 min
- divide in half, punch down, form into 2 semi flattened balls
- grease cookie sheet, place balls on sheet to proof for at least 1 hour
- bake at 350 for 45 - 50 min, until hollow when tapped
