Italian Cookies

  • 1/2 bottle vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp baking soda
  • 5 # flour
  • 1 1/2 # Crisco
  • 1/2 bottle orange extract
  • 1 pint milk
  • 2 # sugar
  • 12 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar=1 #
  • 4 cups flour =1 #

Melt crisco, add sugar, stir and dissolve. Add eggs and then milk, vanilla, orange extract, baking powder and salt. Add flour. Make shapes-roll into little logs (twists, etc.) Bake 350 degrees for ten min. Use butter creme icing and food coloring.
