Printing PDF Files on Plotter

  • Plotter: HP Designjet 450C
  • Operating System: Windows 2000
  • Adobe Reader 7
  1. load paper in plotter - 24“ x 36” in portrait orientation
  2. after printer loads paper, checks the size, it will stop moving
  3. open pdf drawing in Adobe Reader
  4. select print
    1. select the “HP Designjet 450C (E/A0) by HP” printer (it may need installed if you are a new user)
    2. page scaling: none
    3. check “Auto Rotate and Center” (not for courthouse, 24“ x 24” sheets)
    4. in printer properties, verify:
      1. portrait is selected
      2. paper size is “Arch D - 24 x 36 in”
      3. paper type is Opaque Bond (plain)
      4. paper source is “Sheet Feed”
      5. “no scaling” is checked
      6. under “Options” tab, quality is “Best (enhanced)”
      7. under “Advanced” tab:
        • process document in computer
        • uncheck “Auto Rotate” and “Inked Area”
        • Sharpen Lines On (CAD or line drawings)
      8. click OK
    5. click OK to print
  5. don't use the computer much while printing
