Steamed Shrimp

  • 1 can beer
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Salt
  • 1 lb. shrimp
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon (or more for spicy taste) horseradish

(if shrimp are frozen, run cold water over shrimp to unthaw)

  1. Bring beer, water and vinegar to a boil.
  2. Place shrimp in steamer basket, add salt, and cover 50/50 with Old Bay.
  3. Cover steamer with lid and steam for 3 minutes.
  4. Stir shrimp, flipping to other side. Cover again with salt, and 50/50 with Old Bay.
  5. Cover steamer with lid and steam for 2 minutes. Steam until pink, and be sure to mix once.
  6. Put ice in a bowl, place plastic wrap over the ice, and put the shrimp on top. Serve shrimp cold.
