====== Teriyaki Burger ====== ===== Info ===== ^Given By: | Bill | ^Preparation Time: | 1 hr | ^Serving Size: | 4 | ===== Ingredients ===== {{ :recipes:dsc04304.jpg?direct&400|}} **Burger** * 1.25 to 1.5 lbs ground beef * 1/4 cup grated carrots * 1/4 cup chopped scallions * 1/8 tsp ginger * 2 tsp soy sauce * 1/2 tsp sriracha sauce * 4 slices fresh pineapple * lettuce * burger buns **Pineapple teriyaki sauce** * 1/2 tbsp cornstarch * 1/4 cup water * 1/4 cup soy sauce * 1/2 cup pineapple juice, from squeezing fresh pineapple slices * 3 Tbsp brown sugar * 1/8 tsp ginger * 1 garlic clove, minced ===== Instructions ===== Peel carrots and grate. Combine ground beef, carrots, scallions, ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha sauce. Make 4 patties to desired sizes, then press down in the center with your thumb to prevent bulging. Slice fresh pineapple, saving a few slices to squeeze later to get enough juice, then set pineapple slices and burger patties aside. Combine cornstarch and water in a bowl, allow to dissolve, then set aside. In a saucepan, mix soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Slowly bring to a boil and simmer until sauce reduces, 8 to 12 minutes. Add cornstarch and water mixture and simmer until thick, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set sauce aside to cool. Preheat the grill, then grill patties to desired doneness. Grill the pineapple slices 2 to 3 minutes per side over direct medium heat.
